This new edition is packed with recap & updates, including alpha on the upcoming launch of the most important product in our history. Buckle up, and let’s go.
We’ll kick it off with a bunch of very positive stats. We maintain the strong growth of the key product metrics. IDriss Book crossed 7500 registrations, and the browser extension surpassed 2500 weekly users. Our community grows along. We are approaching 3000 community members on Discord and 6500 on Twitter.
We do our best to sustain the growth. The highlight of this edition is the ongoing Season 1 of NFT Quest, where community members are rewarded for onboarding friends to IDriss. Want to join the game? Check out the announcement below.
We all can be proud of growing the size of our community in the last months. More importantly, we increased the number of initiatives and overall engagement.
A few hundred of us gathered for the first-ever community call to chat about recent developments and plans. The participants received a commemorative POAP designed by one of our community members. We are planning the next call soon with a surprise guest from a dog-themed wallet. Not really a surprise anymore, right?
The defining moment for our community this summer was receiving an investment from Cult DAO - a decentralized investment protocol focused on empowering and funding those building and contributing towards our decentralized future. Beyond the monetary value of the investment, we are experiencing significant support from the community of over 20 000 Cult DAO token holders.
DAOs do not happen overnight. It’s a gradual process of cultivating the shared governance ethos. We build this culture at IDriss from day zero with initiatives like the proposal contest below. All 100 editions were minted in 9 hours. We still have some funds left to spend. Go to the #proposals channel in our Discord and share your idea for growth.
One of the ideas that came up during the proposal contest (Author: leaf#5736) was issuing an NFT to everyone who registered IDriss. A piece of digital art that represents shared values and symbolizes membership is a great way to bond the community. You can expect the launch in this quarter.
The great benefit of being open-source is that anyone in the world can contribute to what you build. A memorable moment this summer was when @DevABDee showed up out of nowhere and gas-optimized our smart contracts.
Speaking of open-source, IDriss took part in the recent GR15 Gitcoin matching round for public goods. We will announce the final results soon. All we can say now is that our grant was on fire! We’re preparing a small souvenir for all donors.
Let’s wrap up the Community section with a big shout-out to our newly welcomed 👑OGs: deliriusz#8379, DevABDee#9676, Jace#6770, jarisjames#8072, Kris#8703, kuangshen#4231, leaf#5736, perryberry#8112, withpoll#7139, 链上达人#7477.
We also opened new language channels in our Discord: Indian (Mods: estha#4406 & FINE#8385) and Iranian (Mod: metavertica#7602). We’re hoping to get exposure in these countries with the help of our great Mods. Let us know if you want to be a Mod for a new language channel.
Recent months brought lots of product updates. We smoothly knocked out the major points from our roadmap and started working on the big Q4 product launch - learn more at the end of the paragraph.
This summer, we released the first tool from the crypto payments vertical: a shortcut to get paid in crypto on Twitter. We have a fully-fledged, multi-platform, creator monetization product on our roadmap that we expect to launch in 2023.
Another milestone was integration with Etherscan, Polygonscan, and 6 other block explorers. It's an example of how IDriss enhances user interfaces and makes web3 more human-friendly. Want to see it in other dapps? Share this GitHub link with friends from other projects.
Our friends from Tally Ho! wallet released the Polygon network support, which gave us the green light to integrate the option to pay with Tally Ho! into our dapp.
Another great thing was the partnership with BanklessDAO and adding the $BANK token (Ethereum & Polygon network) to our payment tool on Twitter. Continue reading to learn how we made it happen.
The culmination of the development efforts of recent months is coming soon this quarter. We are currently planning the launch of IDriss Send - our next product from the crypto payments vertical. IDriss Send is a high-impact, mass web3 onboarding tool for individual users and dapps. This year's holiday season, you will be able to send coins & digital art to your non-crypto friends in seconds. Stay tuned.
Recent months were also busy in terms of building our public presence. We had a chance to share our experiences and the vision for IDriss in some great web3 podcasts and communities.
Mac Budkowski invited our founders to Web3 Talks podcast to chat about stories from building IDriss. Check out the episode below if you haven’t done so yet.
Our founders had a great conversation with Sam and Michael on the EmpireDAO podcast. Link to the episode below.
We had a chance to demo our products in the BanklessDAO community. On that call, someone from the audience came up with the idea of integrating $BANK into IDriss. Building relationships with other communities pays off!
Vlad organized a demo session with our co-founder geoist, who is a proud member of Jericho - the community of web3 builders.
Are you aware of any web3 podcasts or communities where we could share our story or demo our products? Let us know on Twitter or Discord.
Crypto conferences are a vital part of our growth strategy. Since the beginning of August, the core team has been relentlessly traveling to share with the world what we are building, meet other communities, and find new contributors.
We kicked off August with DeFiCon in Brooklyn, where one of our team members joined the panel about Identity in Web3 - a recording will be available soon. Shortly after that, we attended ETHToronto.
September started with ETHWarsaw, where we co-organized a successful side event with Web3 Devs Poland, Union, and Cookie3.
ETHWarsaw brought us our first-ever hackathon integrations. In the tweet below, you can read about the teams who used IDriss in their hackathon projects.
Shortly after ETHWarsaw, we attended ETHBerlin and ETHSafari in Kenya - the first-ever Ethereum conference in this part of the world, which turned out to be very impactful for IDriss.
We are planning to attend a few more hackathons this year. Here is our full 2022 conference schedule:
✔️ ETHDenver
✔️ NFTNYC
✔️ DeFiCon (Brooklyn)
✔️ ETHToronto
✔️ ETHWarsaw
✔️ ETHBerlin
✔️ ETHSafari (Kenya)
ETHLisbon, Oct 28-30
ETHBrno, Nov 11-13
ETHGathering (Barcelona), Nov 19-20

Let us know if you are attending any of these conferences. Our core team will be there and would love to meet you and chat, help you integrate IDriss into your hackathon project, or collaborate on a side event.
Before we wrap up, we have an important message. We are strong supporters and defenders of community ownership - IDriss is as much yours as ours. If you want to build with us, we welcome you as a contributor. Just join our Discord and say 'hello'.
Also, we are looking to add two great humans to our core team for the following positions:
Marketing & community lead
UI/UX design-minded front-end developer
If you feel like it could be you or someone from your network, reach out on Twitter, or drop by our Discord. We’re waiting for you.
See you in the next update!
